My acquaintance with Kautilya and the Arthashastra was limited to one-word answers to simple questions that earned me a mark each during my school days. After my school education, I opted for mathematics, expecting it would ensure a more comfortable material life, instead of science in which I had performed well. Unfortunately, my option turned out to be a bad investment without any return of investment.
In response to this badly invested mathematics, I experienced the socio-economic awareness of why some people become rich and others poor. This awareness switched me to humanities, specifically English literature, in my degree course, as I was interested in creative writing. Afterwards, I understood that studying literature and scribbling literature are two different exercises.
Then, there was a decade-long unproductive silent life. During this time, I detached myself from all physical and metaphysical attachments. Anarchy ruled my spirit and conscience. I had then struggled to explore more of myself.
