While The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned against the permanent use of the medication with Hydroxychloroquine outside hospitals, and The Centres for Disease Control (CDC) says there are no approved drugs or therapeutics to prevent or treat Covid-19, the 73-year-old, American President Donald Trump dared enough to state that he is taking the Indian drug Hydroxychloroquine for the last one week and a half and the President says that he is safe with the medication.

The US President Donald Trump said that he is taking Hydroxychloroquine to ward off Covid-19, even though health officials have warned it may be unsafe. But after taking the medication, the President said that “I’m taking it for about a week and a half now and I’m still here, I’m still here,”, “I’ve heard a lot of good stories about Hydroxychloroquine and if it’s not good, I’ll tell you right I’m not going to get hurt by it.”, the President added.

Though some people in the White House have tested positive for coronavirus, the president said again that he had “zero symptoms” and was being tested frequently.

Dr. Sean Conley, the official physician to the president, said in a statement issued through the White House recently that Mr. Trump was in “very good health” and “symptom-free”.

The US Navy officer in fact also concluded that after numerous discussions regarding the evidence for and against the use of Hydroxychloroquine, the potential benefit from treatment outweighed the relative risks as opined by some experts.

The smoke was in the air for so long. Now the presidential fire? Some scientific quarters confirmed that the Hydroxychloroquine answers the riddle, Covid-19. In fact, Donald Trump demanded the Malaria Drug Hydroxychloroquine from India. Though India has recently stopped exporting Hydroxychloroquine to other countries, the country has provided a substantial lot of the drug to the US. At the same time, the Indian health department sources said that Hydroxychloroquine is not at all a drug to treat for Covid-19 patients though it is administered to the health workers as a precaution to prevent infection to the health workers.

Even though the facts are so, believe it or not, media sources reveal that Dr. Didier Raoult, a renowned doctor in France has treated 80 patients with Chloroquine, the drug applied for the curing Malaria claim the clinical results that out of 80 patients treated 78 recovered within 5 days.

The Minister of Health, France, Olivier Véran, has said as per the same media sources that “Hydroxychloroquine and the combination of lopinavir/ritonavir may be prescribed, dispensed and administered under the responsibility of a doctor to patients affected by Covid-19.

The liberal Washington Post said to be reported a few days back that New York is using the drug as a treatment for Covid-19. However, in America, considerable political confusions have developed over Chloroquine, but New York should be out with the results which may lead to a US-wide sanctioned usage of treatment. It is known from the media sources that “New York will use three medications; Hydroxychloroquine and Chloroquine in combination with the antibiotic azithromycin, contributed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Amneal Pharmaceuticals…… the first wave of patients will receive Hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin.”

Amidst these facts and figures, the other day BBC has reported that the use of Hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of Covid-19 patients as it has been revealed through some media is not true but fake news. But now the things are in black and white with the US presidential statement to the world. (News source courtesy:BBC)
